Edition 24 - 3/21/99 --- Spring is Definitely on the way!
Current Time & Temp
So by now you probably have
realized that I got rid of those silly silly windchime sounds.
If I ever find a "more pleasing" wave file I'll add it....or
maybe I'll try to record the windchimes that sit right outside
the office window...hmmm...something to think about.
Updates on things going on....things still seem to be in motion,
in more respect than just the weather (and my good friends and
family know what I mean by that). I'm trying to keep busy with
things to keep my mind off some of the more "negative" changes
(like I "need" to look for things! *g*). The seedlings
seem to be having a hard time getting going. Which probably means
that I should spend more time down in the shop with them (I should
be down in the shop anyway cutting glass and getting going on some
of my stained glass projects which seem to keep mounting). Gotta
get Goddess Ingrid over here more to help me keep an eye on these
plants...seems I do a great job with indoor plants (sans ferns)
and outdoor plants, but just can't seem to do them from seed very
well.
In any event I can't say how much I'm looking forward to early
summer weather -- no bugs, cool evening breezes with the soft
sound of the windchime, cleaning out the gardens on weekend
mornings and seeing which plants survived The Great White North's
sometimes painful winters, drinking coffee in the morning out on the
deck before work and setting out a pot of sun tea to drink that night
(can't forget to pinch off a sprig or two of either the orange mint
or chocolate mint plants on the deck and toss them in with the tea),
sitting out at the table at night, a couple of candles burning,
listening to the pilot boats toot their horns as they guide their
cargo through the windy ways of the river, or waking up on a weekend
morning and hearing the rain bounce off the roof and windows
(of course an occasional crack of thunder or flash of lightning
never hurts!).
As far as gardening goes, I think this year I think I'm going to
try a couple of Clematis plants. Haven't decided which one(s) to
try yet -- something that will bloom either all summer into the
very early fall, or will bloom in the early summer and then again
in late summer. I'm still researching them but will let you know
when I decide on something.
Last night was also the first "official" walking/jogging night of
the year, AND also no jacket!!! (well, turtleneck and sweatshirt,
but no jacket!) Yea! (if you talk to me, bug me about getting
out there....I need all the exercise I can get!)
New horoscope generator...I'm a Sagittarius with Gemini rising. If you want me to include your's, just shoot
me an e-mail or a message. [There's a couple more friends that
want me to put a link to their horoscope...that'll be coming up
in the next week...want to do this part a little differently now
that it's getting more popular.]

Friends & Family Updates
Well, it seems I got one of the
"newby's" names wrong....it wasn't Duncan, his name is Landon!!!
So sorry, Duncan, hope you can forgive me!!! Apparently things
are going as smoothly as can be expected....the longer Tim can
get away from having to fly those huge planes, the longer he can
be home and help Miss out and we all know she needs all the help
she can get! Haven't heard a peep out of how Landon's older
brother, Sam, is handling this new addition...but I'll let you
if I hear anything. Randy is now "in-tact" (well, as "in-tact" as
he'll ever be!! *g*) and the pins are out of his finger!!! I
helped him set up his computer recently and listened to his
"physical therapy" down on the baby grand....and it sounded pretty
good from where I was sitting. Right now, though, he's holding a
half gallon jar of sauerkraut hostage until Mom can finish up at
least ONE of the half gallon jars of beets he gave her last FALL...
there's just no more room in her fridge! In the Goddess Ingrid
part of the world, we have her planning her husband, Tim's, birthday
party...thank goodness they got the pool table up this past
weekend...well there is still that POLE problem...haven't seen it
yet but by the sound of it, it would've fit nicely right through the
side pocket...guess if I'm going to win any games I'm going to have
to learn how to leave the cue ball tucked right up next to that pole!
I also have a friend who's daughter and fiance are in town for a
visit...kinda glad spring is here for them (they're not from this
part of the country and we wouldn't want to scare them off with an
early spring blizzard, now would we!
The pool/billards page is still "in-progress" (I still hate the
term "under construction"...everyone uses that!). I decided I
might be able to get my game back a little quicker (remember, 5
years is a LONG time not to play and then try to pick up where you
left off) if I played 2 nights a week for a little while. So
on Tuesday's I'm part of Sumuvusuc (kind of like those goofy license
plates) and on Thursday's I'm part of the Looney Tunes (no jokes
now!). I'm glad I'm part of these two teams...they're both
very different from each other, but they both have opportunities
for me to learn more. Thanks for having me on your team and here's
to a good season!
To see where I spend a LOT of my time, check out the
lightning bolt. Maybe it'll come in handy for any of you who like to
storm-chase (or just know what's going on in the rest of the
country weather-wise).
(And if any of you know me well, you KNOW what I'm looking/
hoping for on a frequent basis!)
Of course, Jack says "hi" to everyone. I have a
sneaking suspicion that he misses San Francisco quite a bit
(not to mention running around on the ocean beaches every
weekend).
